Over 35’s – Steve Ralph (0499 492 290)

2021 will be a year of further growth and change for the Mighty Melbourne Lions. Moving to a new Den at JL Murphy Reserve Port Melbourne, and zone changes across the whole competition, we will be looking to go deeper into the finals series this year.

2021 will be huge for all involved at Melbourne. Exciting times ahead!

We are a family oriented and inclusive club welcoming all men and women who love their footy and competing as a team. We have age groups for players aged            35 - 45+ so come down and get involved! It’s a great way to stay fit and unwind amongst friends in a perfect lakeside setting.

Training is on Thursday's JL Murphy Reserve Port Melbourne.

99.9% of training is done with a footy in your hands - please bring runners, a cap and a friend!

Yours in Purple and Gold

Women's – Belinda 'Blouse' Bowey (0417 560 757)

2019 will see the introduction of Belinda "Blouse" Bowey as the Coach of the Women's Team.  Blouse brings a tonne of football experience to our newest team and hopes to lead them to glory over the 10 game season next year.

Belinda fell in love with the sport at a young age, playing kick-to-kick in the backyard with her twin-brother Matthew and older sibling Brett – who played 85 games for St Kilda in the VFL/AFL between 1988 to ’94.

It’s there that the love affair began – a love cut short after her final season in the under 14s. Applying the rules of the day, Bowey was told she was no longer allowed to play with the boys in the under 16s – and there was nowhere else for girls to play footy.

A phone call in late 1991 to then 17-year-old would propel her to the lofty heights of the 350-game club player.
